Freshly serviced, Rudy Wiedoeft, 1929 Holton Alto Saxophone in 'Silver Plate'! (Not to be confused with the more common 'C-Melody / Low Pitch' saxophones you will see, this is an 'Eb / Alto' saxophone)

 
I've been selling horns since 1990 and this is the first one of these we've come across. I've had quite a few 'silver plated' horns from the 20's thru 30's, but 'signature' models are rare. This one was in fabulous condition, even before it's recent trip to the shop for a check-up / maintenance (we have the service documents stating the work performed accompanying it). All of this was done by a local band instrument repair station / store that has been in business here in Colorado Springs for the past 30+ years. Horn looks, plays and sounds great. All keys adjusted, all pads &  key corks checked and replaced where necessary, all springs adjusted as well as all key heights. Case good and serviceable. All hinges and latches work fine and interior in great shape as well. It's free of any serious dents, scuffs or scratches. The Silver Plate finish is in superb condition. All original key 'pearls' are REAL and intact. No missing or replaced keys or mechanisms. All pads, springs, corks and felts are in fine and working / playable condition. No bent keys, rods or rod stacks. All keys have great action including the combination keys. No Slop anywhere! The engraving is in great condition with virtually no wear. The neck fitting is true and fits well. Sanitized and test played by a tech. The original 'purple lined' case is also in great shape for being 80 years old.
This is a great saxophone for a player or collector and again, is READY TO PLAY! Includes the original case, a new, extra mouthpiece, a few new reeds and the service paperwork.

PS. The complete spelling of the instrument commonly shortened to 'Sax' is not  spelled 'Saxaphone'. The correct spelling is 'Saxophone'. Just FYI.
