Sansui QH-44 Quadraphonic headphones. This is the first pair of these we've
ever had (meaning in the past 15 years). Feature a 'Back Channel' level
control to adjust the rear channel volume relative to the front channels.
From the original Sansui brochure;
"The
front and back speakers in each housing are angle mounted, the better to
simulate the original sound field image. Indeed, because the speakers are
the non-isolating type, the sound field is created in and around the cups,
leading to outstanding 4-channel perspective" These also feature
'bobbin-less' voice coils to reduce diaphragm mass and increase transient
response. From the original brochure, "this feature is more often
found in a quality microphone. The coil is made of lightweight,
highly-conductive, copper-clad aluminum wire (C.C.A.W.). The coils low mass
and increased magnetic flux density (made possible by the absence of a
bobbin) increases the damping and linearity of the diaphragms so that the
resolution is always clear and realistic".

channel attenuator cleaned. Ear cup Urethane foam and
headband vinyl all still supple, and 'springy' with no sign of deterioration
and free of cracks and tears (both foam L&R color indicators now orange.
Headband tension adjustments hold tight. Chrome plating all perfect with no
surface corrosion. Housing bodies in perfect condition. Original 8' cord
terminated in dual, TRS, 1/4" plugs (one for front channel & 1 for rear
channel). These things look, perform and sound great!
Includes the original box, and warranty card. Also comes
with copy of the original Sansui QH-44 brochure.

we've ever had (meaning in the past 15 years).
Feature an attenuator to adjust the 'Front Channel' level
relative to the rear channels. From the original
Pioneer SE-Q404 brochure;
"Each
sealed type earcup contains two driver elements (total of four) of
polyester film having excellent transient response for clear, crisp
tonal character...Enjoy state-of-the-art quad or stereo quality with
Pioneer's SE-Q404".
Incredibly sensitive with a spec of 105dB!

vinyl all still supple, and 'springy' with no sign of deterioration and
free of cracks and tears. Head band tension
adjustments hold tight (one was replaced with another
'sourced' original). Chrome plating all perfect with no surface corrosion.
Housing bodies in perfect condition. We installed new
foam on baffle boards. Original 10'
cord terminated in dual, TRS, 1/4" plugs (one for front channel & 1 for
rear channel). One was replaced with new metal plug.

First headphones to reproduce sound from 4 discrete
elements (according to JVC literature). The JVC 5944 Quadraphonic
headphones. This is the first pair of these we've ever had (meaning in
the past 15 years). A great feature these also have is a 'Phase Shifter
Circuit' address a classis issue with switching from speakers to
headphones. From the original owners manual; "The
difference between listening to stereo music from speakers and from
headphones is the inescapable fact that, whereas sound from one speaker
interacts with sound from the other speakers in the air, with headphones
this ins not possible. For some kinds of music and recording techniques
this is OK, but for other music it detracts from listening pleasure.
JVC's 'Phase Shifter Circuit' is a unique way to solve this problem. On
each ear cup there's a switch to activate the circuit so the rear
channel phase is 180° different from that of the front channel. A whole
new character will be given to 4-channel sound if these are switched to
'Reverse'."

phones look and sound great! Comes with original Pioneer SE-50 hard
case, also in great condition. Also comes with a pdf 'e' copy of the
