This is a REAL, 'old skooool' built, CLASS A/B power amp. NOT class d, class g, class t or whatever class marketers are calling them this week, to be the lightest and cheapest amp you can buy, that weighs a couple lbs, but a REAL amp. It's got SIXTEEN output transistors in it!

2 rack space, Audio Centron, RMA-1000 power amplifier. Great for small "All-in-One" speakers, stage monitors, wedge monitors or running horns or mids in a Bi-Amp / Tri-Amp system or for running Low end / subs in mono-mode.

While this unit was originally rated at ~xxwpc @ 8Ω, on our test bench, both this unit's amplifiers produced peak power of 30 Volts per channel for xxWatts per channel @ 8 Ω via discrete output & 27.7 Volts per channel for xx Watts per channel @ 4 Ω via eight discrete, Motorola, Metal cased, (TO-3) MJI5002 & MJI5001 outputs.

 Again, as stated before, our technician has completely refurb'd this Audio Centron RMA-1000, stereo Power-Amp, cleaning and testing all and it gets our full 'Certification'. Both speaker protection relays just replaced with new. We have completely gone through the unit cleaning and testing all. Unit works great. Only minor issue is that the "Channel B" input attenuator has a blank spot in the first 40% that does not respond to cleaning. Not an issue once you have amp up to operating level.  
SPECS:


On our test bench, both amplifiers produce perfectly clean and symmetrical sine waves at both 8 & 4 ohm loads. We tested both internal amplifiers to the above specs, and found them accurate.
This is a great performing, fan cooled amp.
On a personal note; I've actually been using this amp in my studio as a rehearsal amp, but can't really have any 'fan cooled' amps in that environment, so am going to have to go a different route.
Measures 19" wide x 16.5 overall depth / 13.5" rack depth x 3.5" tall and weighs 35 lbs unpacked. Includes our standard 30 day limited  warranty.

Great project for someone who is versed in repairing and caring for original Carver Cubes, or just needs a decent, single channel power amp. This M-400a has a great sounding left side, but a right side that shuts down at 1.5V output @ 8 ohms. What we know:
Current draw at idle:  0.6 A
Right channel output: xxvolts @ 8 ohms =xxwatts
39.5 volts @ 4 ohms =xx watts
Left channel output: 1.5 volts @ 8 ohms = .28 watts
(tested into brick-wall load with 1kHz input)
DC output; L = 11.5 mv, R = +9.3 mv
All Front panel LED's function.

Amp has numerous scuffs and scratches including the very obvious one shown on the face. No dents. Functioning right channel sine wave output looks great all the way up to clip!

Our technician has completely gone through and 'Certified' this unit. Unit bench checked / tested. Amp has been cleaned inside and out. Attenuators are 'sealed' for your protection and never need cleaning! All functions have been tested and pass with flying colors! Amp designed using Huge, Power Supply Transformer and Massive, very efficient, externally located, vertically oriented heat sinks, for sufficient cooling. This amplifier is in both great electronic and physical shape. Looks NEAR NEW and sounds fantastic! All inputs tested and both side produces clean and even sine waves! No power supply hum of any kind. It's dead silent! Following restoration procedures, we burned it in, in the shop at continuous high volume for 4 hours straight and it functioned flawlessly.

I have owned and sold many Crown power-amps and they are famous for a good reason. Very quiet, solid, reliable and REAL power.  
  
On our test bench, this particular Crown PS-200 power amplifier, #...7317, unit's amplifiers produced 28.4 volts at 8 Ohms per channel for 100 continuous watts, and 27.1 volts @ 4 Ohms for 183 watts / channel discrete TO-3, output transistors.

Our technician has completely gone through and 'Certified' this unit. Following ext / int visual inspection entire unit was cleaned and out including all contacts, switches and controls. Switches now clean sounding and performing solidly. Silicone heat sink pads installed. All nine (9) 'Function Indicator' / Spkr lamps replaced regardless of current condition. Output section bias / DC offset adjusted to spec conditions.
All functions tested for perfect operation. All inputs tested and both side produces clean and even sine waves! No power supply hum of any kind. It's dead silent! Following electronic refurb, entire unit was cosmetically detailed. Great looking brushed aluminum face plate or the original aluminum knobs. Following restoration procedures, the unit was run continuously at medium volume, as all our amplifier / receivers are, into a load with "Loudness" on and both Tone Controls at 10 for 48 hours.
    
While this amp was originally rated at 80 wpc, on our test bench the internal amplifiers of this particular unit, #...0026, produced 29 volts per channel at 8 ohms for 105 watts per channel and 26.6 volts at 4 ohms for 176 watts per channel via discrete, TO-3 outputs (2x 2SB489 & 2x 2SD1110)
 Overall Idle current draw measured @ 350mA. DC offset / out adjusted to and measured at <6mV on either side. Bias set to 10mV.
Very quiet with Floor noise measured at <0.1mVAC.

One note about Dynaco Pat-4 pre amps is that, like a few other 'vintage' units, is due to the close proximity of the input jacks, you will need to utilize fairly 'normal' jacketed RCA connectors, as there is not enough room to 'squeeze' some of the 'fatter' RCA jacks (usually seen on 'high end' 'interconnects'). All functions have been tested and pass with flying colors! Minor scratches on top sheet metal cover and the only other issue is that the face panel does not have 'On-Off' silk-screened on it. It may never have had it, or it may have worn off. Pre-amp looks decent and sounds great. Includes an 'e-copy' pdf download of the Dynaco PAT-4 owners / users / instruction manual.  Unit measures 13.5" wide x 9" deep x 4.5" high and weighs ~4 lbs unpacked. Amp designed using Huge Power Supply Transformer and super quality (expensive) filter caps. Externally located, vertically finned heat sink for very efficient and silent, passive cooling of output devices (all amps / receivers should be designed this way). This amplifier is in both great electronic and physical shape. Looks LIKE NEW and sounds fantastic! All inputs tested and both side produces clean and even sine waves! No power supply hum of any kind. It's dead silent! Following restoration procedures, we burned it in, in the shop at continuous high volume for 8 hours straight and it functioned flawlessly.

On our test bench, this unit's (#...1277) amplifiers produced 32+ Volts at 8 Ohms per channel for 128 Watts / channel and 28+ Volts at 4 Ohms per channel for 210 Watts / channel via discrete output transistors (DC out adjusted to less than 9mV per channel. Floor noise < 0.1mVAC. Idle AC current draw @ .86A)
   
Great "general purpose" power amp for a variety of consumer and Pro-Audio applications. Super quiet operation and build quality. We run it's little brother in our main demo system and have for years. Our technician has completely gone through and 'Certified' this unit. Unit bench checked, necessary repairs made, cleaning / detailing inside and out, fully tested and Certified. Our technician reset the voltage to correct 120vAC. He then replaced EVERY electrolytic capacitor, including the four 10,000μF filter caps.



He actually 'upped' them to 12,000μF.

Prior to that, the amp did 'function' to a degree that the average 'ear' might no notice any issue with, however it had THE WORST condition capacitors we have ever come across (and we're talking many 'thousands' of units). Even considering we restore gear from the 1940s! The main filter caps had electrolyte so dried up, and so bad, you could actually hear the the crystallized electrolyte 'rattling around' inside when we shook them!!! The amp should have 'smoked' when powered up, but nothing 'drew' alarmingly on the vari-ac, however the amp did have -550mV on one side and -135mV on the other. Again, it still produced sound that the average person might perceive as 'passable'. I say all that to make you aware of the IMPORTANCE of having an amp gone thru, by a qualified technician. Most folks would not have noticed any of the issues until something 'went south' catastrophically.

All 16 original RCA brand, TO-3 output transistors removed, bad or questionable mica insulators replaced and fresh heat-sink compound installed. He also replaced the disintegrated 'plastic' pilot lamp escutcheons / lamp assemblies and changed the neon lamps from 'red' to 'blue'. As stated, the technician also replaced the balance of the electrolytic capacitors which then allowed the amp to be properly adjusted for bias and DC offset. Both main wafer switch wafers cleaned / burnished. LED panel mounting 'shored-up'.
Following above operations, all functions have been tested and pass with flying colors! Amp designed using Huge, TRUE DUAL Power Supply Transformers, with separate filtration, and MASSIVE, very efficient, externally located, vertically oriented heat sinks, for sufficient cooling. This amplifier is in both great electronic and physical shape. While it's not going to win any 'beauty contests' due to numerous, minor 'battle scars', there are no dented / bent corners or heat sinks (a miracle considering it's mass) (see above photos for details). Performs and sounds fantastic! All inputs tested and both side produces clean and even sine waves! No power supply hum of any kind. It's dead silent! Following restoration procedures, we burned it in, in the shop for 48 hours and it functioned flawlessly (we actually took it into our 'demo' system and 'rocked-it' HARD on our Altec VOTT's. HUGE sound and thump).

  
On our test bench, this particular hk Citation 16 power amplifier, #...0147, unit's amplifiers produced 34.5 volts at 8 Ohms per channel for 148 continuous watts, and 30 volts @ 4 Ohms for 225 watts / channel discrete TO-3, output transistors. (16x RCA 0404. (Idle AC current draw @ .6A. & DC offset out = <7mV on either side. Bias set to 9.9mV. Floor noise measured at <0.1mVAC either side)

This is a Huge and Beautiful looking, performing and sounding power amplifier. Great 'High-Tech' look (in 'vintage terms anyway). Cosmetically, it looks great with only a few minor 'dings / scratches', mostly not visible from the front. The minor scratches on the front are faint and fairly 'un-noticeable' (see photos above).
While it could be used with any other pre / control amp, as they came in as a pair from the original owner, we only want them to stay together to their 'new' owner.

Again, as stated before, we have completely gone through this Mitsubishi DA-A10DC, Power Amplifier cleaning and testing all and it gets our full 'Certification'. This is an amazing performing and sounding amp. We have 'stood on it' hard, with a number of our speaker loads (the most fun being when connected to our Altec 'Voice of the Theaters'. It's a huge sounding and punchy amp, with lots of 'head room'. Handles 'REAL' high power levels perfectly well. If you are looking for serious, vintage power, it ain't gonna get much better than this.
Also includes the original 3-pin, umbilical speaker control cable for connecting the power amp to the speaker selection section of the pre-amp.

Very classy 'Pewter / Silver' face Mitsubishi Pre-Amp / Tuner. VERY impressive in stature and cosmetics. Looks great with matching Meter Bridge attached to Mitsubishi power amp. Cosmetically it's in BEAUTIFUL condition with only items worth mentioning would be some light finish scuffing on one end from being set on it's side (not visible from front of unit) and the word "Power" missing all but the "P" from the silk screening above power switch (see photos above).

ü Following both internal and external visual inspection, the entire unit was cleaned out including all contacts, switches and controls. Switches now clean sounding and performing fine.

ü Silicone heat sink compound inspected for ‘suppleness’

ü We adjusted / set the Output section bias / DC offset to BETTER THAN factory spec (check our results below).

ü All functions tested for perfect operation.

ü All inputs and functions tested.

ü Both amplifier sides produce clean and even sine waves! No power supply hum of any kind. It's dead silent!

ü Following electronic refurbishing, the entire unit was cosmetically detailed

ü Following restoration procedures, the unit was ran continuously at medium volume, as all our amplifier / receivers are, into a 4 Ohm load with "Loudness" on and both Tone Controls at 10 for 48 hours.

While this amp was originally rated at 25 WPC on our test bench the internal amplifiers of this particular unit, #...1893, produced 19 Volts per channel at 8 Ohms for 45 Watts per channel and  16 Volts at 4 Ohms for 64 Watts per channel via discrete, outputs (2x RCA 2N3055 & MJ2955)
Idle current draw .2A
DC offset, while the NAD 3120 service manual specs anything less than "50mV", and we originally measured this one, #...1893 at over 44mV / Channel, following our bench service it's now at only >2.0mV!!! on either side.
Very quiet with Floor noise measured at >-60dBm / 0.1 mVAC.

On our test bench the internal amplifiers of this particular unit, #...1087, produced 24 Volts per channel at 8 Ohms for 72 Watts per channel and 20 Volts at 4 Ohms for 100 Watts per channel via discrete, TO-3 / Metal Cased outputs (Toshiba 2SD426) (test at 1kHz, single channel at a time).
Idle current draw 0.425A.
Very quiet with Floor noise measured at >00.0 mVAC /->60dBm.

Cardboard surrounds on transformers. Was vari-AC'd over 30 minutes, in 10 Volt increments, and finally left to run for a half hour into an 8 Ohm load. Rated at 20 Watts, from 2 metal 6L6 output tubes. Had small amount of audible  60 cycle hum  when turned up past half way. Faithfully reproduced a number of different test tones both audibly and on a scope. Has control pods mounted on the ends of fixed cables. No scratches, dents, rust, corrosion, finish chips, etc. This thing shines.

ü  Our technician has completely gone through and 'Certified' this unit.

ü  Everything was cleaned inside and out including all switches, controls and contacts.  Cleaned and re-lubed all control shafts.

ü  Internal fuses checked for correct value / function and replaced where necessary.

ü  ‘Multi-Voltage’ switch replaced and correctly set for North American current. 

ü  Solder joints reflowed on all possible high heat and stress points

ü  Defective 'meter IC' replaced

ü  Amplifier section had output bias and DC offset adjusted to spec levels after 10 min warm-up.

ü  All functions tested for perfect operation.

ü  Following above procedures, unit was cosmetically detailed inside and out.

ü  All inputs tested and both sides produce clean and even sine waves into static 8 & 4 ohm loads! No power supply hum of any kind. It's dead silent!

ü  Following restoration procedures, the unit was run continuously at medium volume, as all our amplifier / receivers are, into a load with "Loudness" on and both Tone Controls at 10 for 48 hours.

On our test bench, each internal amplifier of this particular unit, #...3533, produced peak power of 26 Volts per channel at 8 ohms for 84 Watts per channel and 24 Volts at 4 ohms for 144 Watts per channel via discrete output transistors.
AC Idle current at 460mA. Floor noise 0.3mVAC.

We don't get many SAE components in (other than my 'personal' units). This is a great amp for mid sized audio systems at 70+ Watts per channel. Great for up to 12" woofer systems. Loaded with 'usable' features as well. Looks and sounds great!
